On August 15-17, 2019, a seminar on compiling outline and teaching experience of <geosynthetics> textbook was held in Tai'an city, sponsored by the Education Working Committee of China Geosynthetics Association (CTAG). Twenty-three experts and scholars from Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai University, Southwest Jiaotong University, Wuhan University, Tianjin University, Hehai University, Northwest University, Shijiazhuang Railway University, Lanzhou Jiaotong University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology attended the meeting.Professor Yang Guangqing, Secretary-General of the Association, participated. The purpose of this seminar is to exchange teaching experience of geosynthetics, unify ideas, and divide the work of compiling <geosynthetics> textbook, so as to promote the teaching reform of geosynthetics in China and further promote the application of geosynthetics in engineering field.
The participating professors discussed the outline of the textbook Geosynthetics, and determined their respective division of labor and time arrangement.The textbook "Geosynthetics" edited by CTAG Educational Committee will be expanded in eight chapters: introduction, performance and testing, isolation, drainage and filtration, reinforcement, seepage control, pollution barrier and protection. The working principle, calculation method and engineering application of geosynthetics under various functions are introduced. This textbook is expected to be published in the second half of 2020.
After the meeting, accompanied by Chairman Wang Xuewen, the experts visited our company. The chairman introduced in detail the development course of our company in product development, material modification and equipment automation promotion in recent years. Experts fully affirmed the technical level and R&D strength of our company, and agreed with our plan to implement 20,000 tons of polyester filament non-woven fabric project and accelerate the replacement of staple geotextiles with short fibre. As the technological pioneer in the industry and the main innovator of geosynthetics products, our company will further strengthen the in-depth cooperation with universities in production, learning, research and application so as to give full play to their respective advantages and further promote the innovation and development of geosynthetics in China and the promotion of international influence.
The success of this seminar has been affirmed by the leaders and experts of the association. At the same time, it has set up a platform for communication and common progress, which will also lay a solid foundation for promoting cooperation between our company and universities.
